Ha, see how I made a quick cheap meaningless play on words for the article title? Can I be in the Daily News yet? I changed my site’s look for one reason – to fit entire pictures. A few of the pictures I attempted to post were truncated due to some conspiracy involving space. Hope you like the new look.
I love comic strips. Not superhero strips, but strips that use humor to make a social point, be it philosophical, political, or random. Today I thought I would share a few of the comic sites I frequent, with samples:
Derfcity has been on my reading list, since I saw his work in the City Paper. A style all its own, and occasionally raw and rude.
Zippy was the first surreal strip I saw, and I was immediately hooked. Mindless consumerism, take that!
Red Meat is very strange, probably the Addams Family of our time. Hold me, because I’m afraid.
I love Ward Sutton’s artwork and his cartoons make me laugh heartily.
That’s it for now. Please give your own recommendations.

Aaah, the City Paper. I miss the City Paper.
What ever happend to the Boy With Hair? That was one of my favorite comics.
Dig the new look. On my laptop though, your links are covering up some of the text. I just fill it in with my imagination though and it’s almost as funny.

I remember something like the Boy with Hair, no idea what happened to it though, nor do I recall the artist’s name to search. Anyone?
Sorry about the pictures being cut. I think I was able to simulate your issue, and the right column covers pictures, but not text. I tried reshaping the pictures so they would fit in a more narrow theme, but no luck. The best, albeit not perfect options, are to wait until the post is old enough that it is low enough on the screen to see, or click on each individual picture to pop them in a new window. I will keep looking.
