Tips to saving gas

Hummer american flag patriot parking spaces

Those pinheads in the Unit’d States Government are at it again.  Word is they are trying to bring back the 55 mile per hour speed limit.  Supposed to save gas and lives, they say.  Hell, I don’t even look at the speedometer in my Hummer until I reach 80 MPH!  Well that, or if some Honda driving peacenick is driving at the speed limit. That damn ‘car’ doesn’t even hold more than 1 gallon of gas, I bet.

First off, these idiots don’t realize that if you lower the speed limit, you actually increase the amount of gas used.  How?  Well, easy – lower speed means less dead.  Fewer fatalities means more drivers, using more gas!  Duh!  Dead people can’t drive. You want to save gas, raise the speed limit and get rid of those weak drivers.

So I read the Dept of Energy ‘tips for driving more efficiently’, subtitled: ‘how to drive like a pussy tampon-boy’.  You gotta read this crap.

gas mileage usually decreases rapidly at speeds above 60 mph“  Oh yeah?  Is that what your slide rule tells you, Mr. four-eyes Trotsky?  Well good.  Thousands of proud American troops gave their patriotic lives, just so gas prices would rise – and you can’t even press on a petal to do your share for Exxon and Shell?  Trillions of proud loyal American dollars were spent, along with all our good-will around the world, and you won’t do your share?  Just sick.

Remove Excess Weight“: Ha.  I bought my Hummer so I can carry all my stuff with me: guns, playstation, 3 or 4 kids (Hailey, my wife, probably picked up another one at football camp), lawn chairs, weights, ladder, tools, 256 cans of soda.  Closest I will get to removing excess weight is when I leave my fat ass wife at home when I go fishing.  Ha.  Just kidding, Hailey – you know I love you when I don’t drink.

Avoid excess idling‘: I thought this thing was all about efficiency.  Well hell, it is more efficient to wait in line at the McDonald’s drive-thru and eat in the vehicle, then stopping, putting on our shoes and shirts, and going inside the darn restaurant. Am I right?

Aggressive driving (speeding, rapid acceleration and braking) wastes gas.”  And pussy-driving waste panties.  Get it, panty-waste?   Ha!  Sometimes I wish I could see through my back window, through my patriotic ‘God Bless the Troops’ stickers, just to see your face as I zoom past you.  Aggressive is who I am – don’t make me a thinker.

Why don’t you nerdy bookworm types just push for electric cars and enforcement on corporate fuel emissions standards, if you’re so smart?

McCain, brought to you by…

Bush McCain hug

Which companies will benefit most from a John McCain presidency?

In America, we have a Presidential election system that currently allows only  for large corporate sponsored candidates to be eligible for office.  This system is a disaster for the 95% plus of people and businesses that make up the ‘rest’ of America. When you vote for one of these candidates, you are voting for the companies he/she sponsors.

To challenge such a system, and allow a candidate of the people’s rights and freedoms, takes time, effort, and patience.  If more people supported Ralph Nader, instead of Gore in 2000 or Kerry in 2004 – we would be much further along today.  Instead, people (understandably) chose the attempted quick fix (and downgraded those with more of a vision), and we still had 8 years of Bush.

Here in 2008, we are faced with similar issues to prior elections.  Both Democratic and Republican parties have, or will, nominate a corporate sponsored candidate, while Nader runs with no fanfare.  Of course, there is a slight difference among corporate support and policies among candidates.   Nobody should have been surprised when Exxon and Haliburton received record profits after Bush was appointed President.

Like Bush, McCain is heavily corporate supported.  That point is obvious, even though he is hiding the sources of perhaps most of the money supporting his campaign (filtered through his wife).  But how well can we predict which companies will do best by a McCain presidency?  Pretty well, I think – considering we now know which companies support McCain lobbyists.  McCain Source published a list of 118 lobbyists running McCain’s campaign and raising money for his presidency.  This invaluable list includes sources, positions, and companies supported.  McCain is deep into these companies’ pockets – he basically works for them.

Based on the list of corporate sponsors, it appears McCain will continue Bush’s tradition of sacrificing small and mid-size business and social programs for a handful of large corporations.  Below is a list of the types of companies that McCain has specific close relationships with.

So many of the top American industry leaders are supported/represented by McCain lobbyists:

Gas/oil industry: Exxon, Shell, Chevron Texaco are all well represented.  Expect the gross profits to continue for these companies, should McCain become next president.

Military/pentagon: no surprise, this industry is very well represented.  Lockheed Martin and many others.  Expect more war throughout the next term, with McCain.

Insurance companies are heavily represented, of course.  Do not expect better or cheaper health care under McCain.

Telecommunications companies are all over this list.  If McCain is President, expect massive spying into American’s lives and complete control of the internet turned over to these companies.

Energy: PSE&G and others.  Right now, energy prices – like food and gas prices, are extremely high in America, becoming a horrible burden on people.  This is part of the new tax, money that has to be paid to the governing class to survive.

Mainstream media: CBS, NBC, etc.  No surprise.

Tobacco companies.  Yep, they are still here, and have McCain as a spokesman.

Many large Pharmaceutical Companies are here.

Guns, weapons, and NRA is also here.

Large bank entities are here, as well.  JP Morgan, CitiGroup, Fannie Mae, Charles Schwab,

Yes, expect more of the same from McCain, as we saw under Bush.  Higher taxes by way of food, gas, medical, insurance, and other soaring costs.  Lots of war and prisoners.  And more support for Mainstream Media and Telecom companies.  Bad news for the economy, health, science, internet users, and non-filthy rich people.

Yes, I want Ralph Nader to be president, but I can understand the feeling of urgency to avoid the continuation of horrible Bush policies under McCain.

China still suffering from massive earthquake damage, needs support

China earthquake bodies dead

The official death toll from the horrendous earthquake that hit China last week has reached 34,000 people, and is expected to rise past 50,000.  The estimated number of injured has surpassed 200,000 and there are still an about additional 100,000 missing.  All these estimated numbers have been reported by multiple news sources.

To put this dramatic figure in perspective: 3,000 people were killed in the sad WTC attacks and 2,388 were killed in the Pearl Harbor attacks.  Those 2 horrible events stunned us with sadness that still rocks us.   About ten times as many people have died in this recent earthquake than in those 2 events combined, underscoring how dramatic an event we are now suffering through.

Those injured and surviving this horrible event still need our help.  Surprisingly, and hopefully, people are still being pulled alive out of the rubble. Here is a photo of a 61 year old Chinese woman who survived 164 hours buried under rubble before being saved by rescue workers.

Additional help is needed in the form of: medicine, water and food, shelter and clothes, and other relief items.

Donations and relief help can be sent to the Red Cross through their website.

After giving to help these people, please think about preparing for a disaster and disaster-recovery in your area.

Unfotunately, my area is not well prepared for disasters.  The United States federal government has become disturbingly deficcient in: helping their citizens in need (see Hurricaine Katrina).  They have also weakened support of science that can help detect and prevent or brace for such disasters.

Support Chinese eartchquake victims at Red Cross.

Jewelry with extra feeling: that ‘Perfect Gift’

bridge water reflection stone trees

There are a couple of childhood events that helped shape my gift-giving techniques.  As a very young boy, I saved my allowance to buy my dear Mom a birthday present.  I went for the absolute best gift possible.  I chose a baseball glove.  Her reaction was just about what you would expect if your cute cat presented you with a dead bird at the front door. “Aw, how cute – gee thanks”

The other event involved a gift I received from my Brother, who had just spent all his money on my Birthday gift, but felt obligated to give me a present for the holidays.  So, he took 1 single penny, and wrapped it carefully in a small box.  He then took that box and wrapped it into a slightly larger box, then found a bigger box…  well eventually the gift was too large to carry.  After unsuccessfully guessing what was in the gigantic present (candy?  gigantic CB Radio and candy?), I excitedly tore it open, and was shocked to see the penny.

These 2 gifts, the inappropriate baseball mitt and a penny, were a couple of the best gifts ever given.  My Mom still has great happiness and joy as she tells the story of that glove, while forgetting many other ‘appropriate’ gifts.   Also, I have been fortunate to have received many fine gifts, but none makes me happier than the time I received that one penny.

So now, when I look for a gift, I look for these important elements:

  1. Unique or at least very different.
  2. Interesting and memorable.
  3. Personal connection.  Does the gift communicate personal feelings?
  4. Quality and beauty.

Looking for the perfect gift for yourself or someone else?    I found a gift place that encompasses all of these important elements.  I recently received jewelry from an excellent source, a website for ultra-creative and beautiful jewelry: Made With Molecules (link added to the blogroll).  This jewelry (and other products at Made With Molecules) are made with the structure of molecules and neurotransmitters, all designed and produced by the intelligent, creative, and friendly Dr. Raven Hanna, who also owns the business.

The personal messages contained in this jewelry are almost endless!   Consider the Serotonin necklace.  Scientific research has shown that an increase in Serotonin improves mood, and drugs like Prozac are intended for this purpose.  This is a gift of happiness.  Whenever the recipient looks or thinks of this piece, they will think of the happiness you gave them.

Or consider Dopamine, whose activity in the brain reflects excitability and intense pleasure.  Dopamine levels are affected by feelings of love and kissing, or alertness and concentration, or from drugs like Cocaine.  This gift can be a gift of love or happiness to someone who gives you intense pleasure.  That is a very special message.  Raven also has a dopamine love card.

Raven’s creative collection is extensive, including: chemical structures for caffeine and the active ingredient in chocolate and hot peppers; all the way to testosterone boxer shorts and glucose onesies for infants.  She also has a peptide peace holiday card that is just beautiful.

Another of Raven’s pleasant surprises was that the items I received from Made With Molecules were presented beautifully and creatively, with a nice card included to explain the molecular structure and activity. It was very easy to order and was shipped very quickly.

Made With Molecules has wonderful gift items, and is run by a top notch person, Dr. Raven Hanna.  I highly recommend her art to all.  Please check it out, you won’t be sorry.  As for me, I plan to go back for the neurotransmitter charm bracelet, as I know quite a few people that could use some GABA.

O.J. withhold the Mayo

OJ Mayo USC slam basketball nba

The NBA has a monopoly on the industry of professional basketball in the United States.  Attempted rival leagues (ABA, woman’s leagues, CBA) have been crushed by the NBA and no longer exist.  There is one very large American ‘amateur’ league, NCAA collegiate basketball.

Despite many billions of dollars in revenue from TV contracts, this college league is considered amateur because their main workers (players) do not get paid.  In fact, their revenue is higher because they will not allow the players to make money elsewhere, like selling clothes with their own name or sponsorships.  The players still do that work, but they cannot profit of it – their employers can.  These financial restrictions are illegal and immoral, by my understanding.

The NBA has always tried to keep the NCAA happy, and did so again last year by banning all players in their 1st year out of high school.  I need to repeat that fact because it is so astonishing how brazen they are about lawbreaking.  The NBA, using their monopoly, bans players who are of legal age from making any money in their chosen profession, solely based on age discrimination.  If this rule were around when many top players came out of high school to the NBA (Kobe Bryant, Kevin Garnett, LeBron James, etc) it would have cost them millions of dollars, and would have risked much more for them.

This week, there have been allegations that OJ Mayo, one of the top High School basketball players prior to playing 1 season with USC (NCAA), may have only received $30,000 plus gifts while being a star ‘amateur’ basketball player – even though he would have made millions of dollars on the open market.

The NCAA and mainstream media are very angry that this young talented player, who made so much money for his employer, should make a little money.  Strangely missing from these arguments is that the NBA forced him illegally into this position, or that his pay was illegally restricted by a multi billion dollar enterprise, NCAA Basketball.   Insulting OJ only rubs it in.

I hope OJ Mayo sues the NBA and NCAA for the money they prevented him from earning.  Perhaps a class action lawsuit by all the top high school basketball players would be the trick to getting the players paid.  Then, after we hopefully win that, maybe we can work on all the grad students who make money for their schools through patents and research without appropriate payments.  It may not work, being right is unfortunately only a small part of the battle, but we won’t know until we try.

Demar DeRozan, BJ Mullens, Brandon Jennings, Al-Farouq Aminu, and the rest who have another year of high risk because of the NBA and NCAA -you may have to work now to recoup those potential losses.

Sexy girls depot, admiring female beauty

sexy girls depot shut down girlfriend

Girlfriend censorship is a sad and funny thing, as you can see from the above message on SexyGirlsDepot website.  Maybe if he was more open with his website, she wouldn’t be so insecure.  I haven’t seen his pictures, so maybe she has an issue with the content.   Anyhow, now that his loyal readers have nowhere to go for pictures of sexy girls, I figured I would post a few here to continue the admiration of female beauty.

Oh yes, a scientist working in a lab to further understanding of the world and enhance life is so hot!  You can find more about her likes and dislikes at this website.  Hint: turn-ons include research to save lives.  Turn-offs: Nascar.

Another sexy beautiful woman is Milla Granson, who was a slave, back when America was more open about enslaving Black people.  Milla secretly learned to read and spent her life educating people.  I can’t post a picture of this sexy woman, because I have never seen one and don’t know what she looks like.

If you are a virile man, you have probably already locked your door and loosened your belt in anticipation.  You won’t be disappointed, here are the beautiful women who work for people’s rights!

But also this other type of strength.  Here is one of the sexiest women of all time, passionate and loving.  If you do not know of Emma Goldman, look for her.  But beware, she is so hot – they will not teach her pivotal work to children in schools.  Too hot to handle!

Of course, the sexiest and most beautiful woman is the Mother.  Look at this beautiful Mother, who stands by her child no matter what.
