Today is Election Day in the U.S. and most likely over 95% of us voters will yank our levers for either Obama or McCain, while 3rd party candidates are ignored by corporate media and consequently, also by voters.  As you prepare to vote, please keep a few important things in mind:

  1. Vote based on the issues, not the candidate. The candidates have (intentionally) become caricatures: short, old, funny-named, black, white, confident, emotional, panicky, smooth with words or prone to malapropisms.  None of that matters.  Vote for those representatives that will support the issues important to you.  Do you want to stop wars, or poverty and famine?  Then please vote for the candidate you feel will help most in that regard, not the one who seems more confident and handsome.
  2. Your vote for President may be the LEAST important vote you make today. Take the time to know each candidate that will appear on your ballot for local elections, and their positions (try Google search).   Also, find out the truth about each proposition or public question up for vote.  Again, use the search engine to research.
  3. Lastly, please remember that your responsibility does NOT end when you cast your vote.  These people work for us, the citizens, and we need to continually remind them to work for our interests.  Write letters to them, make phone calls to them – be a good boss and let them know exactly what we expect from them.  Let them know when they are doing a good job, and when and how they are screwing up.  Large corporations hire people to do this on a daily basis, so please do not let them be the only voice heard.

Good luck out there.  It is time to take back America!

Vice Presidential Debate, a few comments

Oh Hai! I haz a cute.

Oh Hai! I haz a cute.

Last night, I watched the entire ‘debate’ between the Vice Presidential candidates of the 2 governing corporate parties, Sarah Palin and her Uncle Joe Biden.  Here are a few highlights, in case you missed it:

1. Without anyone to challenge her, (think Katie Couric) Sarah Palin was able to ignore topics and nuance to give empty pre-planned talking points.

2. Both candidates used traditional political lingo to BS us.  As examples: “create jobs” means increasing profits for the rich governing corporations; “support/fund our troops”  means giving large amount of free money to war profiteers such as GE, Disney, Titan, Bechtel, Halliburton, et al.

3. The Republican’s public relations (using psychology to manipulate opinion) was more advanced and successful than that of the Democrats.  From the onset, Palin tried to portray McCain as a candidate of change, who will fight against the status quo – even though he has spent the last 8 years as a loyal Bushie.

Palin continued to portray herself as an average American, who has been picked on for not being an elite by the media.

4. Both debaters agreed strongly that they are clearly against Gay Marriage, (yes, they used that term).  Two hateful bigots trying to win the neo-Nazi vote, I guess.

5. Joe Biden’s performance last night was worse than the Cubs.

6. It is all too clear from this ‘show debate’ that America has no democracy.

Obama’s shocking choice for running mate

After a long and media frenzied period of non-news, Obama this week shocked the world by choosing a pro-corporation right wing Joe Biden as his running mate.

During his many years working for corporate profits,  Biden has shown himself to be pro-RIAA, pro-war, and anti-constitional rights.  Biden is thought by experts to be the first rich white male to run for the office of Vice President of the United States in over 3 years.  This surprising last-second choice by Obama and multiple boards of directors to not go with a black female candidate who cares about human sufferring, came as a gigantic shock to at least 1 person (unidentified at press time).

This choice comes as a welcome relief to multi-billion and trillion dollar industries who were understandably uneasy about Obama only having a few years experience sacrificing human rights for their profits.

Minorities, women, children, 90% of the U.S., and people in countries other than the U.S. were thought to be royally assfucked by the decision, and again turned to their backup plan of praying to an imaginary God for help.  God was again unavailable for comment.
